Intensive driving lessons are designed to move you quickly through the learning process so that you can take your driving test in less time than normal. Students for our intensive driving courses in Salisbury usually have some driving experience already, but some are complete beginners, and we’ll always work at a pace that suits you. All of our driving instructors in Salisbury are experienced in getting driving students ready for their test in a quick and efficient manner and we’ll work with you to create a schedule that fits in with your other commitments and availability.

Sometimes referred to as ‘the city in the countryside,’ Salisbury is set within easy distance of Cranborne Chase, the New Forest and the North Wessex Downs. When starting to learn to drive in Salisbury, the quiet residential streets of Bemerton, East Harnham and Bishopdown provide the perfect spots to learn how to pull away and practice all of the basic manoeuvers of driving.
Once you have the essentials mastered, test your skills within the city centre, navigating your way around Salisbury’s magnificent Cathedral, old timber buildings and the Poultry Cross, as well as busy bars and restaurants, before exploring the many sprawling parishes on the outskirts of the city. With lots of roundabouts in and around Salisbury, you’ll get plenty of opportunities to practice your signals and on-road positioning too. Salisbury provides a great variety of driving experiences and a good balance of urban and rural driving environments that will help to develop your skills as a good all-round driver and get you ready to pass your driving test with confidence.
Here at Lendrum’s Driving School we offer a choice of Automatic or Manual intensive driving lessons. Learning to drive a manual car is still a very popular choice as it gives you the skills that you require to drive both manual and automatic cars in the future. However, if you want to learn how to drive quickly, intensive driving lessons in an automatic car can save time; not only will you not have to change gears whilst driving, you won’t need to learn about clutch control, which makes pulling away and hill starts much more straightforward. Whichever route you choose, though, all of our driving instructors are very experienced at teaching students how to safely operate a car, whatever its transmission, to ensure you pass your test with skill and confidence in as little time as possible.
