With the stresses of everyday life and the roads getting busier, now is a really good time to be driving an automatic car.
You may be a complete beginner, or someone who has had a go at manual and found it wasn’t the right fit. No matter your level, we can cater for you, and promise you of a fantastic learning experience.
How many of your friends have told you about stalling, and how they hated it? In an automatic car you cannot stall, since there is no clutch, so when you come off the brake and press the accelerator, there’s no hesitation, you just go.
Simple enough in an automatic car, as soon as you move your foot from the brake to the gas, the car will move, forget about constant clutch movement, putting on the handbrake and finding the biting point, you just calmly move feet from one pedal to the other. On top of that – No rolling backwards!
{location} has its share of busy roads, junctions, roundabouts, traffic lights and built-up areas, where you will be in traffic a lot of the time during your driving lessons, particularly during rush hour. In an automatic car it’s simple, we cannot make the traffic disappear, however you can control the car easier, less pollution, and easier on your feet and legs, as no constant clutch control.
Here at Lendrums Driving School we understand how tight money can be for students, so we offer discounts on driving lessons and block bookings, to help you budget more easily, and we are among the few driving schools covering Drayton who offer driving lesson discounts. Our coverage spans the whole area, and can pick up and return to college/university, so if you have study gaps in the day, or once you have experience, we can pick you up from home and finish at the college/university and vice versa from college/university to home.
As a NHS professional, we know just how much pressure you’re under, and would like to show our appreciation for your hard work, keeping people safe and helping people recover, therefore we offer a discount for NHS driving lessons, similar to the students, as a way of saying thank you.
All our customers get FREE access to our online theory and hazard perception training, to help you pass your theory test easily.
This covers everything you need to prepare for the theory test, from hazard perception clips, road signs, and the Highway Code, letting you fit revision around your schedule. Combined with the practical driving lessons you’ll be having with your instructor in {location}, this sets you up for passing first time.
Plenty of the people we teach find that working through the online training alongside their lessons helps the two sides of learning to drive come together, as the theory and the practical reinforce each other.
If you’re studying at college or university, we can collect you during study breaks, taking you back to your studies or home once your lesson’s done, plus we can pick you up from home and drop you at college or university, once you have a bit of experience on busier roads. Learning to drive is an exciting milestone, and choosing the right location to build your skills can make all the difference. Drayton, a vibrant suburb of Portsmouth, offers a diverse driving environment that helps new drivers gain confidence behind the wheel. From navigating local roads to tackling roundabouts, Drayton provides the perfect mix of challenges for learners preparing for their driving test and beyond.
One of the most valuable aspects of learning to drive in Drayton is the variety of road types available. Learners can practise on quieter residential streets before progressing to busier routes such as Havant Road, which sees a steady flow of traffic throughout the day. Additionally, Drayton and the surrounding Portsmouth area feature numerous roundabouts, giving students essential experience in judging speed, timing, and lane positioning. Consequently, by the time learners take their test, they feel well-equipped to handle Portsmouth’s often congested road network.
Beyond the practical benefits of learning to drive, Drayton’s location offers plenty of appeal. Nearby attractions, including the historic Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and the iconic Spinnaker Tower, provide excellent motivation for new drivers eager to explore independently. Furthermore, Portsmouth’s lively nightlife and array of restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues give newly qualified drivers exciting destinations to look forward to once they pass their test.
Ultimately, learning to drive in Drayton, Portsmouth, combines practical road experience with the reward of discovering a city full of culture and entertainment. This balance makes it an ideal setting for building confidence and competence as a driver.
Everyone learns at a different pace, but most learners find it takes around 45 hours of lessons, alongside plenty of practice, to be ready for your test.
